Approximately 150 of the 309 apartments offered for sale at the Carasso Nia project have sold within roughly a year and a half. Baltimore, MD - September 2, 2026 - Today is the second day of school, at least for me. Some of our children and Mechanchim have already been in school for over two weeks. It is also a milestone year for me in chinuch that I still can’t believe I’ve reached, and it’s a bit unreal to ponder as to where the time has gone. I wake up at the crack of dawn, literally before Olos HaShachar, and hence I write this. I also go to bed quite early now because teaching preschool is extremely physically exhausting at the beginning of the year. I feel like my students who shared with me yesterday, on the first day, that they too woke up when it was still dark. My son also starts his day early as well as he has to catch the bus to Yeshiva (of Greater Washington) th...

Parshat Nitzavim opens with the entire nation gathered before Moshe Rabeinu as he prepares them to enter yet another brit with Hashem. By this stage, we have already encountered numerous covenants, most recently in the tochachah of Ki Tavo, whose concluding pasuk explicitly describes it as a brit:
אֵלֶּה דִבְרֵי הַבְּרִית אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה ה' אֶת מֹשֶׁה לִכְרֹת אֶת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּאֶרֶץ מוֹאָב מִלְּבַד הַבְּרִית אֲשֶׁר כָּרַת אִתָּם בְּחֹרֵב.
“These are the words of the covenant that Hashem commanded Moshe to establish with the children of Israel in the land of Moav, in addition to the covenant He had made with them at Chorev.”
Why, then, do...

This week we read the Admonition, the slew of curses that will befall our nation if we do not adhere to the Torah.
The total number of curses enumerated is oddly listed in Midrash as being 'one hundred less two'.
The Kli Yakar explains this anomaly by observing that there are ninety-eight curses clearly defined among the verses, and two that are not exactly described.
Also, the Lord will bring upon you every disease and plague that are, לא כתוב — not written in this ספר תורה —Torah scroll, to destroy you. (דברים כח סא)
The nature of the disease and plague is not specified, in contrast with the other ninety-eight consequences which are clearly detailed.
Why is this significant?
More intriguing is the Torah depicting these tr...
