Baltimore, MD – Feb. 6, 2026 – (BJL) Baltimore and surrounding areas are bracing for dangerous weather conditions this weekend, with a High Wind Warning and Extreme Cold Warning taking effect early Shabbos morning.

Forecasters say strong northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts reaching up to 60 mph, are expected from 4 AM through 7 PM on Shabbos. The powerful winds could bring down trees and power lines, leading to possible power outages across the area. It is strongly suggested to stay away from windows and watch for falling debris.

In addition to the high winds, an Extreme Cold Warning will remain in effect from 4 AM Shabbos through 10 AM Sunday. Wind chills could drop as low as 15 degrees below zero, creating dangerous conditions for anyone spending extended time outdoors. Officials warn that frostbite and hypothermia are real risks, and wind chills may remain below zero for much of Shabbos.

All are encouraged to stay indoors as much as possible, dress in warm layers if they must go outside, and check on elderly family members and neighbors.

Authorities say this is a serious weather event and urge everyone to take precautions and remain alert through the weekend.
