Baltimore, MD – Aug. 18, 2026 – Baltimore is blessed with an extraordinary wealth of mosdos of Torah and chesed. Yet among the community’s many well-known institutions is a unique Torah opportunity that remains something of a hidden gem: the longstanding Wednesday night shiur at The Chofetz Chaim Adath Bnei Israel Congregation (Adas).

For more than 40 years, Maran Harav Yaakov Moshe Kulefsky, zt”l, delivered a shiur for baalei batim at Adas, first on Rogers Avenue and later on Park Heights Avenue. The in-depth Torah learning that filled the shul each Wednesday evening became a highlight of the week for its devoted participants.

Following Rav Kulefsky’s petira 26 years ago, his son-in-law, Harav Dovid Rosenbaum, shlita, assumed the role of maggid shiur, continuing this treasured Baltimore tradition. Under Rabbi Rosenbaum’s leadership, the shiur remains a true iyun shiur, filled with high-level pilpul and the joy of serious Torah learning.

The interactive chaburah brings together lomdei Torah of all ages who thirst for the opportunity to explore masechtos they may not have had the chance to learn in depth during their yeshiva years. Rabbi Rosenbaum encourages participants to ask, answer, challenge and contribute, creating an engaging atmosphere reminiscent of the energy of the beis medrash.

Over the years, the Wednesday night shiur has completed numerous masechtos b’iyun. The chaburah is currently exploring and enjoying the fascinating world of Maseches Temurah.

Rabbi Rosenbaum’s hundreds of former talmidim, along with all bnei Torah throughout Baltimore, are warmly invited to become part of this enduring chain of limud haTorah. It is an opportunity to elevate one’s learning, join an interactive chaburah, bask in the joy of pilpula d’Oraisa and rediscover the excitement of the beis medrash.

The shiur takes place every Wednesday evening at 8:00PM. at Adas, located at 5915 Park Heights Ave, Baltimore, MD 21215 (the corner of Menlo Drive and Park Heights Avenue).
