Baltimore, MD – August 28, 2026 - An individual was arrested early Friday morning following an attempted break-in at a home on the 3700 block of Bancroft Road in the Fallstaff area, according to Baltimore Shomrim.
Shomrim received a call from a homeowner reporting that someone was attempting to break into the residence. The homeowner was instructed to also call 911 as Shomrim units responded to the area.


Shomrim units arrived within approximately 90 seconds and observed an individual emerging from behind homes in the area. Units followed the individual while additional information provided by the homeowner confirmed that he matched the description of the person involved in the attempted break-in.


As Baltimore Police Department officers arrived, the individual entered nearby backyards and was temporarily lost from sight. Shomrim members and BPD officers canvassed the surrounding area and located him approximately one block away. Shomrim directed police to his location, where officers detained the individual.


Police subsequently reviewed information and video footage that Shomrim had received from the homeowner. After consulting with a supervisor, officers placed the individual under arrest.


Shomrim is asking residents in the area to check their security cameras for additional footage. Anyone with video showing the individual breaking into or attempting to break into a home is asked to send it to info@shomrim.net, preferably, or via WhatsApp at 410-358-9999. Residents should include the date, time, and address so the footage can be forwarded to BPD.
