It was an exciting first week at Miriam’s Library as the center officially launched its new after-school program, welcoming more than 50 children registered across six hands-on classes filled with creativity, learning, and fun.

The excitement began on Sunday, October 25, when 15 girls gathered at Miriam’s Library, located at 201 Milford Mill Road, for the inaugural Baking & Decorating class, led by Shira Perlman, owner of Delightfully Sweet. With over 26 years of experience in baking and cake decorating, Perlman brought her expertise and enthusiasm to the young bakers.

The energy continued as Miriam’s Library rolled out its other exciting offerings, including Merch Making, Hairstyling & Braiding, Guitar, Mosaic Art, and 3D Printing & Design. Each class gives children the opportunity to explore new interests, develop practical skills, and express their creativity in a welcoming, hands-on environment.

One of the week’s highlights came on Monday, when popular Jewish singer Eli Marcus made a surprise appearance at the Guitar class, bringing an extra dose of excitement to the young musicians and making the opening week even more memorable.

The launch marks an exciting milestone for Miriam’s Library, which is building a vibrant, inclusive community space where children of all abilities can learn, create, and discover their talents together.

With more than 50 children registered for its inaugural season, the program is off to an enthusiastic start. Season One consists of six-week courses, giving participants the opportunity to build on their skills and enjoy meaningful experiences week after week.
